Many couples find they are unable to start a family once they feel the time is right. Infertility is more prevalent than ever, partly because many are delaying conception.

Often people attribute all fertility problems to the female. We define infertility as 12 months of attempted conception without success. 40 percent of fertility problems are female-related and an equal proportion are male-related. The remaining 20 percent are due to a combination of male and female factors.

Early on, we work with our patients-preferably both husband and wife to develop a flexible, written plan that details all the facets of evaluation and treatment.

Dr. Rawson completed a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Baylor College of Medicine, where he currently serves on the clinical faculty. Highly skilled in tubal microsurgery, he attracts patients from all over Texas and nearby states who wish to have their tubal ligations reversed.

Dr. Rawson works closely with the world-renowned doctors at Baylor College of Medicine IVF Center in Houston .  Together they offer a range of assisted reproductive technologies including in-vitro fertilization (IVF), assistance with male infertility and donor egg. They also provide help with a variety of reproductive endocrinology issues such as recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, premature ovarian failure and menopause.

• Tubal Microsurgery
Reversal of tubal ligation, tubal repair.

• IVF (in vitro fertilization)
Eggs and sperm are placed together in the laboratory. The fertilized eggs are transferred several days later into the woman’s uterus where, it is hoped, implantation and embryo development will occur just as in normal pregnancy.

• ICSI (intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection)
A microsurgical technique performed in conjunction with IVF in which a single sperm is injected into an egg.

IUI (intrauterine insemination)
Placement of washed sperm directly into the uterus.
